as far as i know this i s not possible out of the box, but wouldnt it be handy if you where to allocate a task to a number of people ,that task is not complete untill all members of the task have signed the task . im sure there are many options for this to be used, and i do find it hard to belive that all tasks can be completed by one person only within a team.
example : you send a task to 30 users , and the task is not complete until all 30 have signed it off. also a quick report of who has signed it would be useful!
if anyone has any views on this or maybe a possibe solution id love to hear them. i have played with a hybrid of survey and task forms but without much success even with a bit of logic in the background via a workflow but again, with unsuccessful results.

i look forward to your thoughts.

regards

barney

It turns out that in the current beta product (i.e., the Cortez release) the task form will allow each assignee to specify how far along they are. Each field (percentage and status) can have "personal" settings. Everyone can then view what the others have said.

While there isn't a way to have the workflow wait until they all are done, you can now have a visual look at where people are.

Don't forget to do a "reset" of your definitions and templates if you want to get this feature.

hi peter,

cheers for the response. i have tried this but am not able to view who has done what. ive looked hard but carnt find anywhere. where is it hidden?

also peter, is it possible to sort out a workflow based on the above other than doing a web app, as we really need to be able to send a task to multiple

users (like 800) and for that task to be unique for each user. once all users have responded to that task then the task is complete.

if you have any ideas on this that would be great.

cheers in advance

I just checked. The "Personal versions" option is selected for several fields in the standard task entry in Cortez.

So, check the following...

1) are you running the Cortez Beta version (any version, it doesn't matter)?

2) did you Reset the definitions from the Site Administration/Form and View Designer page?

3) are you talking about a standard Task Entry in a Task Folder?

Sorry, it looks like this feature had a problem. I fixed it for the next Beta drop.

You can start parallel workflows. But if you want to go through many peoples, I think there should be some better design otherwise your configuration is very huge and not easy to maintain.
