Multiple zones are supported in Teaming 2.1 (the licensed version). I don't believe they are available in the non-licensed Kablink version.

Multiple Zones have apparently been SPECIFICALLY removed from version 2.1 and up.  No reason for doing this has been given, however it looks like an attempt to improve revenue by forcing people to the licensed version...   Not cool at all, and not very Open Source friendly....

This can be a problem when a company (Novell) controls the development of Open Source products.  Red Hat doesn't seem to do this with Fedora, but it may be because of a wider development team.

Either way, Kablink Teaming was announced with certain features (including multiple zones), that still have references in the online installation and operation manuals, but it has apparently been crippled by corporate decisions to improve profits.

I'm sorry, but multiple zones was never in Kablink. Multiple zones was first added in 2.0, but it was always licensed. The decision to be licensed was made by SiteScape even before Novell bought SiteScape. Multiple Zones was designed to be licensed even before we decided to go Open Source.
