Kablink Component
  • Teaming

Hello,

We´ve installed Kablink Teaming 2.0 (Build 0 / December 22, 2008). I see it is not exactly the same product as described in the Help files included, and I have problems for going through some basic tasks. For example, I can´t find the "Add content" function for adding the administration tools portlet, instead I only see a "Manage" menu in the toolbar, with some options like "Acces Control", "Activity Reports", etc.).

Is available any new version of Help files for this new interfase?

I am also having trouble for adding users. When I use the "Add User" function under the "Site Administration" option in the "Mange" menu, after filling all the information and clicking "OK" I get no message of confirmation of any kind, and after that when searching for the new user, I can´t find it and then conclude it was not created.

Can you give me a clue about if the problems I am experiencing may be caused by a wrong installation?

Is this new version just a "beta" release still uncomplete?

Thanks!!

We are really in Alpha and hope to actually release an installable Beta within a couple of weeks.  Documentation is certainly not complete at this point although I can help you along.  I am planning a series of screencasts to help with the documentation problem so stay tuned.

As for your questions... Liferay has been removed in Kablink 2.0 so there are no portlets you need to add.  If you are logged in as Administrator you will have an option under the "Manage" menu called "Site Administration".  This will give you full access to all the options we had in the Administration Portlet.

Adding users can be accomplished by navigating to the top level of the "Personal Workspace" area.  There you will find a list of users on the system and the option to "Add User" at the top.  This will work.  The Site Admin function to Add User should also work but you have apparently found a bug :-).  I will look into this.  Thanks for the find.

On behalf of Miguel Angel Pereyra:

First of all, I want to say thanks for the attention. I don´t know if someone else here thinks the same, but I am glad of seeing that the old "collaborative mood" is back, as in the old days of Sitescape.

Now, about the issue:

I´ve succeeded creating new users following your tip, that is using the " Add user " link. Anyway, I can confirm that, at least in our installation, the "Add user" option under the "Site Administration" link in the "Manage" menuis not functioning.

We´ve also found some other issues, which will be posted in a new entry by Eivind.

Thanks!
